A letter: To ubaby

Posted on July 1, 2023July 18, 2023 by Thomasina Ndlovu

My baby

Sthandwa sami. I tell every one. I tell any one. Who cares to listen about how much you are going to love me. Inside out. Loudly. Patiently. Kindly. Fiercely. With no conditions. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about how you will not play about me. How you will protect me. And our babies. I have been thinking we have two God willingly. What do you say? Insert your totems here. Oh I cannot wait to meet you. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about how gentle you will be. How you will calm my storms. And also be the rainbow at the end of it. Yang to my yin. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about the amount of road trips we will have. Chasing sunsets. Eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Welcoming starry nights. Laying on our backs in a field of dandelions. Being high on love. Dreamy.

We were together even when we were apart. – Shannon A. Thompson

I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about how much I will cry to God. Thanking him for you. A perfect man I get to call mine. For as long as there is breath in my lungs. Forever wena baby. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about the random bouquets I will get. Just because you miss me. Just because you love me. Just because your favourite team won the league. Just because a song you were listening to reminded you of me. Just because your packed lunch tastes so good. Just because last night was out of this world. Just because the kids are a perfect gift. Just because you’re lucky to have me. Wink wink. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about how you pray. Good times. Bad times. Always. My priest. My leader. My love. Babakhe. I tell everyone. I tell anyone. Who cares to listen about how much of a great dad you will be. Present. Supportive. Loving. Our kids are going to be spoilt. I could write a whole book about the kind of man you are and the relationship we will have.

I hope you’re coming into yourself. I hope you’re trusting God with your now and your future. I hope you have let go of your past. I hope you’ve forgiven yourself for your mistakes. I hope you’re letting Christ reign over your heart, mind and soul. I hope you’re learning about handling finances. I hope you’re making choices that are in line with the word of God. I hope you’ve surrounded yourself with like minded friends who hold you accountable in your walk. I hope you’re dealing with your childhood traumas. I hope you’re preparing to be receptive of my affection. I hope you don’t think showing your emotions makes you weak. I hope you’re spending your time doing what you love and what you ought to do. I hope you’re learning how to deal with conflict. I hope you have healthy relationships with your family. I hope you’re confident and secure with how God made you. I hope you’re praying for your future. Our future. I hope we cross paths in God’s perfect timing. When we’re in sync with God’s will for us. When we’re in healthy spaces to receive romantic love. I hope we will recognise each other. And make the most of every single day. I cannot wait to love you. To hold you. To laugh with you. To cry with you. To soar with you. To grow with you. To write our own beautiful happily ever after. With Jesus at the centre of it all.

P.S I love big fuzzy hugs. I know you’ve invested in smelling like I could eat you. I cannot wait to get lost in your scent. Insert heart emotjies.

Owakho. Ubambo lwakho. Ubaby

Girl I hear you! In the meantime, let’s continue to care about the things of God, be holy in body and in spirit.❤️
